Responsibilities:
- Support the Assistant Director with the development and implementation of training for the student leaders of the Student Programming Board (SPB).
- Attend SPB general board meetings, executive board meetings and Summer/Winter trainings.
- Event support during all major Student Programming Board events.
- Serve as the graduate student advisor to the Student Programming Board providing guidance and support to the executive board, and general members.
- Meet with members of the Student Programming Board executive board monthly.
- Collaborate on the OSE First Six Weeks program in planning and execution.
- Advise the WQAQ and QBSN student media organizations, providing guidance and support to the general managers, executive boards, and general members.
- Advise the Summit Yearbook student media organization, providing guidance and support to the editor, executive board, and general members.
- Assist in processing payments, reimbursements, and orders for all student media groups
- Organize monthly Student Media meetings, including agenda and scheduling.
- Keep up to date records of student media budget spending and account information for subscription payment upkeep.
- Coordinate the Student Media Summit.
- Coordinate a student media training during the Fall semester.
- Assist with the execution of the Engagement Fairs.
- Advise a portion of undergraduate student organizations, ensuring effective communication between the Office of Student Engagement and the organizations and that expectations of active status are upheld.
- Assist with the student organization event approval process.
- Advise student organizations on a variety of circumstances they may face (i.e., group conflict, transition, event logistics, etc.)
- Assist with Orientation Leader Selection.
- Serve in a bi-weekly rotation with other Graduate Assistants to support evening/weekend programming at York Hill & Mount Carmel campuses.
- Chaperone off campus trips when necessary.
- Assist with university, division, department/office events (i.e. Open Houses, Admitted Students Days, Move-In, Welcome Weekend, Senior Events, etc.
- Develop, execute, and assess a leadership development series in collaboration with other OSE graduate assistants.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate student, in good standing, currently enrolled in coursework at Quinnipiac University.
- Prior experience with student center/union or large-scale event space operations preferred.
- Prior experience with program development and execution.
- Excellent communication skills– both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
- Ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and to exhibit a positive, helpful attitude.
- Ability to work and maintain focus in a chaotic, high-energy environment.
Hours of Position:
- Majority of hours held between the business hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday varying weekend and evening responsibilities.
- Must be able to complete 20 hours a week.
