Position Overview:The Art Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality art instruction to students. This role involves creating and implementing engaging lessons, fostering creativity, and encouraging artistic expression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement art curriculum for various grade levels.
- Teach students fundamental art techniques, creativity, and art history.
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking through various artistic mediums.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback on artistic development.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration.
- Integrate art education into cross-curricular activities.
- Participate in school-wide events, art exhibits, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with staff to support the overall mission of the school.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field.
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification.
- Strong knowledge of art techniques, history, and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment
This position operates in a professional school environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and instructional materials. Noise level is typically moderate, but can be higher during student-centered activities or events. Occasional local travel for school-related functions may be required.

This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is in accordance with applicable federal and South Carolina labor laws.
