Join the Movement for Equity and Impact

Since 1968, the Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL) has served as a cornerstone of the Sacramento region, championing civil rights and economic self-reliance through life-changing education, housing, and workforce development programs. We are seeking mission-driven professionals who thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about youth development, career coaching, and community impact.

At GSUL, you aren't just filling a position-you are joining a legacy of social justice. Your work directly supports young people in building pathways to education, employment, and long-term career success.

Position Summary

The Supported Education & Employment Specialist (SEES) is a youth-centered professional who empowers young people ages 12–25 to explore career pathways, achieve educational goals, and access meaningful employment opportunities.

Working within GSUL's allcove integrated care model, this role bridges mental health, education, and workforce development by providing individualized career coaching, facilitating job readiness training, and connecting youth to employment and academic resources.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about career development, case management, workforce programs, and youth empowerment, with the ability to guide individuals toward sustainable success.

Core Responsibilities

1. Youth Engagement & Career Coaching

Build trusting relationships with youth using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. Provide individualized career coaching and case management to support goal setting, confidence building, and career exploration.

2. Education Navigation & Academic Support

Support youth in navigating educational pathways including high school completion, GED programs, college access, and vocational training. Connect participants to academic resources and support services.

3. Workforce Development & Job Readiness

Deliver job readiness training, including resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Connect youth to employment opportunities through GSUL workforce programs, CalJOBS, and employer partners.

4. Integrated Care Team Collaboration

Collaborate with clinicians, peer support specialists, and program staff within a multidisciplinary team model to ensure holistic youth support and service coordination.

5. Community Partnerships & Employer Engagement

Develop relationships with schools, training providers, and local employers to create opportunities for internships, job placement, and career exposure.

6. Program Support, Data Tracking & Outreach

Maintain accurate documentation, track program outcomes, and support reporting requirements. Assist with community outreach, workshops, and youth engagement events to increase program participation.
