Job Summary

The Manager, Systems Interoperability Solutions provides both technical leadership and administrative oversight for the team responsible for Epic’s third-party ecosystem. This role is the "owner" of the hospital’s integrated clinical stack—including blood bank, milk management, and fetal monitoring—ensuring these systems are not only functional but optimized for patient safety. The Manager is responsible for the professional development of staff, departmental financial health, and ensuring all third-party integrations meet the rigorous standards of a high-uptime hospital environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical Oversight: Responsible for technical oversight and management of ancillary systems and their integration with Epic.
  • Application Management: Ensure that department applications are kept up to date and optimized.
  • Issue Management: Ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner according to department SLA’s.
  • Implementation Oversight: Helps develop and reviews detailed implementation plans and monitors project progress. Serves as lead and escalation for department’s projects.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign staffing to project "build" phases versus "run" maintenance/support; manage the 24/7 on-call rotation schedule to ensure clinical areas are never without support.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular 1-on-1s and annual performance evaluations; develop personalized goals and growth plans and manage any necessary disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans (PIPs).
  • Budgetary Control: Develop and monitor the annual departmental budget; track variances, manage capital requests for new hardware/software, and oversee the procurement process for third-party licenses.
  • Approvals & Compliance: Act as the departmental sign-off for system changes (Change Control), staff timecards, and vendor invoices.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiate and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with external partners; ensure vendor maintenance contracts are renewed and compliant with hospital security standards.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with Health system Directors to ensure integrated systems meet their operational workflows and patient safety goals.
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.


Experience

  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Management experience is required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required.

Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
