Role Overview:


Atos is looking for a Tax Compliance Analyst to support tax compliance and reporting activities for Mexico and Canada. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with indirect tax, withholding tax, and income tax obligations, while partnering with accounting teams and external advisors to meet statutory requirements accurately and on time.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Support Mexico VAT compliance, including monthly reconciliations, electronic filings, journal entries, and online payments.

  • Ensure quarterly upload of VAT reconciliations and monthly submission of recoverable tax in line with local regulations.

  • Prepare Canadian GST/HST/QST returns, including reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly payments.

  • Prepare withholding tax filings for Mexico and Canada when applicable, ensuring timely payments and compliance.

  • Prepare and upload monthly statutory financial statements for Mexico in accordance with governmental requirements.

  • Support income tax return preparation by providing calculations and required data to external tax advisors.

  • Support annual statutory and informative filings for Mexico, including fiscal, directors, and related-party returns.

  • Support tax provision files for September and December close and post related journal entries.

  • Respond to tax notices, audits, and information requests from Mexican and Canadian tax authorities.

  • Research taxability of products and services for customer invoices and vendor purchase orders.

  • Investigate and resolve tax-related issues in internal tax queues.

  • Collaborate closely with accounting to ensure accurate and consolidated withholding tax reporting in Mexico.


Must-have Qualifications / Skills:



  • Familiarity with corporate tax, VAT and withholding taxes.

  • Experience preparing tax reconciliations, filings, and journal entries

  • Ability to work with electronic tax filing and payment systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, basic formulas


Educational Background:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline


Professional Experience:



  • Previous experience in tax compliance or accounting roles

  • Exposure to Mexico and/or Canada tax regulations

  • Experience working with internal stakeholders and external advisors


Soft Skills:



  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment


Good-to-have Qualifications / Skills:



  • Experience in a multinational or shared services organization

  • Familiarity with tax provision and internal controls

  • Experience with ERP systems or tax reporting tools
