Job Description

Founded by the Channell family in 1922, Channell is a global designer, manufacturer, and seller of outside plant infrastructure equipment. The markets served by Channell are Telecommunications, Municipalities, Internet Service Providers, Wireless, Water, Power, and CATV, among others. Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection management systems, and high-performance below-grade vaults.



JOB SUMMARY:



The Quality Auditor assists the Quality Engineers in maintaining the effectiveness of the Channell Quality Management System and supports continued certification of ISO 9001:2015. Uses documentation tools to identify non-conformance and uses problem-solving skills and corrective action skills. Executes process control methods on a wide assortment of manufacturing and assembly processes. Maintains good housekeeping in any area assigned and ensures that all company policies and safety rules are followed on any shift positioned.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




  • Conduct Quality Inspections of manufacturing/assembling.

  • Conduct receiving inspections of incoming goods.

  • Develop training to build quality awareness throughout manufacturing.

  • Provide leadership in compliance areas of internal auditing and ISO 9001:2015 documentation.

  • Execute continuous improvement of QA receiving/inspection and QA floor auditing.

  • Monitor and communicate supplier quality performance metrics.

  • Assist supplier audits and issue recommendations/requests for corrective action.

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in analyzing product non-conformance, customer, and internal complaints.

  • Address non-conformance complaints by identifying a root cause with root cause correction.

  • Complete other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE OF:




  • Good mechanical skills, use of hand/power tools

  • Good understanding of quality and safety practices



ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:




  • Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules.

  • Properly use of all safety equipment: safety glasses, safety belt, harness, and hard hat.

  • Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • ISO sections about the position
