Job Description

SUMMARY (Brief summary of position) 

Sullivan & Cromwell LLP is seeking a motivated Coordinator - Talent Development ("Coordinator) to join the Legal Talent Office (LTO) in the New York office. This multi-faceted role will support a variety of associate programs and initiatives. 

The Coordinator will report to the Manager - Talent Development. They will work closely with associates, senior partners, and practice group leaders, as well as across teams within the LTO. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Collaborate with various teams in the LTO in the creation and administration of Firm-wide programs and trainings. 

  • Liase with the affinity networks - each of which is open to all lawyers - and support network-related programming. 

  • Coordinate and process invoices for Firm sponsorships/tickets to external events and organizations. 

  • Regularly conduct research on emerging and competitive trends and best practices. 

  • Help guide junior associates with integration into the Firm. 

  • Support the summer associate recruitment process and help coordinate summer associate program activities. 

  • Work closely with various team members, other departments, and key stakeholders on multiple, concurrent projects. 

  • Additional responsibilities and special projects may be assigned. 

     

In addition, responisbilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Self-starter with superb organizational skills and high level of attention to detail. 

  • Strong writer, editor and proofreader (a proofreading test is required). 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; an ability to work effectively with a wide-range of lawyers and staff and a commitment to responsiveness. 

  • Ability to problem solve; flexible and growth mindset, open to new ideas and evolving responsibilities. 

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). 

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and generate quality work product in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment; flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary. 

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism at all times.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • A minimum of two years of experience working for a law firm, financial institution or other professional services firm. 

  • B.A. or B.S. required. 

  • Experience working at a law firm or similarly fast-paced professional services environment preferred.

COMPENSATION

The base salary range offered for this role will be between $70,000 and $85,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
