Job Description

Job Description: The Adjunct CNA Instructor is responsible for directing, managing, and evaluating student learning in the classroom and clinical setting as well as assisting the student in meeting the overall goals and objectives of the department.  The instructor monitors and evaluates student performance based on established grading guidelines.  This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. 

Functions:

  • Contributes to the overall achievement of the college’s mission and goals through effective instruction in the classroom and clinical setting.

  • Plans and prepares for classroom and clinical assignments.

  • Assist students in the integration of theory and practice, specific to the course learning activities.

  • Evaluates the student’s development of clinical reasoning skills.

  • Exhibits behavior in support and promotion of residents’ rights.

  • Conducts appropriate evaluation and assessment of student learning.

  • Creates and maintains an environment of rapport and respect.

  • Directly observes and guides students’ learning activities with clients.

  • Maintains up-to-date accurate records on attendance and student progress.

  • Participates as a member of the course team in the course’s development and evaluation activities with the lead faculty.

  • Provides student timely written and oral feedback.

  • Provides timely and ongoing feedback to the lead faculty regarding individual and group performance in the accomplishment of the course’s outcomes.

  • Engages in the college community for intraprofessional networking and professional development.

  • Assists residents in attaining and maintaining functional independence.

  • Communicates learning expectation and incorporates current technology.

  • Structures course activities and assignments based on learning outcomes.

  • Engages in self-assessment of teaching practices and professional development needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
