As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of pipeline construction projects. This position goes beyond project support—you will take ownership of key project functions, partner closely with Project Managers, and help drive performance across cost, schedule, quality, and safety. You will be responsible for understanding contract requirements, managing project documentation, coordinating resources, and proactively identifying risks and solutions to keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all phases of pipeline construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Interpret and apply contract documents, specifications, and drawings to support project execution
- Take ownership of project cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to ensure financial performance aligns with goals
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Monitor production, quantities, and progress to support schedule adherence and operational efficiency
- Support procurement efforts, including material tracking, purchasing, and logistics coordination
- Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reporting
- Identify project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies in collaboration with project leadership
- Contribute to project planning activities, including scheduling and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality expectations
- Build strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and project partners to support successful project outcomes

What it takes:
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
- Prior internship or full-time experience in a construction, field-based, or project support role
- Experience with job cost tracking and estimating software; familiarity with Trimble Business Center and Primavera preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel and commit to long-term, onsite project assignments
