The Outreach Specialist - Mental Health & Wellness executes Brightpoint’s Mental Health & Wellness (MHW) outreach and partnership development strategy at the regional level. Responsible for building and sustaining referral pipelines and securing new community-based partnership sites where MHW services can be administered (e.g., schools, community centers, healthcare settings, and other community organizations). Serves as a field-based ambassador for Brightpoint, conducting boots-on-the-ground outreach, relationship-building, presentations, and follow-up to expand program access and strengthen service utilization. Collaborates closely with intake, clinical, operations, and leadership teams to ensure outreach efforts translate into sustainable partnerships and increased service start rates.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Conducts in-person outreach to schools, community centers, child welfare agencies, healthcare providers, and other community partners to build referral pipelines and secure new service locations.
  • Develops and maintains active referral relationships aligned with program capacity and strategic priorities.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities for new partnerships where MHW services can be delivered onsite.
  • Represents Brightpoint at community meetings, networking events, and partner convenings.
  • Conducts presentations and informational sessions about MHW programs and eligibility criteria.
  • Tracks outreach activities, contacts, referral trends, and partnership status in designated systems.
  • Follows up consistently with prospective partners to move relationships from introduction to active referral source or service site.
  • Collaborates with intake staff to ensure smooth handoff from referral source to intake process.
  • Communicates regularly with clinical and operational leadership regarding pipeline trends, site readiness, and service demand.
  • Gathers feedback from community partners regarding service gaps, barriers, and emerging needs.
  • Assists in identifying geographic or demographic areas with low referral volume and implements targeted outreach plans.
  • Develops partnership pitches, in collaboration with service area leaders and communications and external affairs teams.
  • Ensures outreach materials are accurate, current, and aligned with program models and eligibility requirements.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of outreach contacts and outcomes.
  • Adheres to program, licensing, and accreditation standards.

Candidate Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, public administration, human services, public health, or related field required.
  • Relevant work experience in outreach, sales, or partnership development may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, business development, sales, or partnership development required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in human services, healthcare, education, or community-based programs preferred.
  • Experience building referral pipelines or managing external partnerships preferred.
  • Experience working within Medicaid-funded or publicly funded service systems preferred
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of outreach, community engagement, and relationship-building strategies required.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of mental health service systems and referral processes preferred.
  • Demonstrates understanding of eligibility standards and service access pathways preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community-based organizations and school systems within assigned region preferred.
  • Must have access to transit or other reliable transportation to execute the position’s responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred.

  • Compensation: Hourly Range: $22.00-$25.00; offers are commensurate with experience. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs.   • Location: Hybrid (in-office 3-4 days per week); Home office located at 100 N Western Ave.
  • Schedule: Full-time, hourly; The role will require regular travel as well as evening, and weekend hours to attend external networking/outreach events (such as conferences, tabling events, etc.).
