The Hot Food Cook prepares food for all areas following a strict code of food handling practices, sanitation techniques, and personal hygiene that will ensure appealing, wholesome food and compliance with all regulatory agency requirements. The responsibilities of the Hot Food Cook include preparation and presentation of all meals, including hot food prep, cooking, hot food assembly, catering and special functions, short-order cooking, line service, and proper storage of goods. This position is also responsible for overseeing and providing direction to the work of the Cooks’ Assistant and Line Server.
Schedule: Varies - Per Diem
Pay: $18.20/hr - $21.83/hr (dependent on experience)
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and cook hot meals with precision and creativity.
- Oversee food handling and sanitation to meet all regulatory requirements.
- Assist in catering, special functions, and assembling meals with visual appeal.
- Manage storage and inventory, ensuring quality and freshness.
- Provide guidance to the Cooks’ Assistant and Line Server, fostering a productive kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be able to obtain a sanitation certificate
- Meet the physical demands of working in a kitchen setting
- Commercial quantity food experience preferred
- Annual Flu Vaccinations are required.
