Specialty Metals Corp is a high-end, precision fabrication job shop serving demanding industries, including aerospace and other quality-critical markets. Our facility is AS9100-certified, and we operate with a strong focus on process control, documentation, and doing the job right the first time.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a CNC Press Brake Operator for swing shift (2:00pm – 10:30pm) to support our precision fabrication operations. Experience is preferred; however, we will consider entry-level candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn, and provide structured training on our equipment and processes.
This role involves operating a 12-foot, 285-ton CNC press brake and supporting a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment. You’ll work closely with CAD and Sales to support design criteria, manufacturability, and accurate job quoting. This position also provides backup support for shear operations.
Pay range: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a 12’ 285-ton CNC press brake for high-tolerance, custom parts
- Calculate or learn to calculate flat patterns, bend deductions, and bend allowances
- Select or learn proper tooling for material type, thickness, and geometry
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD-based design criteria
- Collaborate with CAD and Sales to support manufacturability and quoting
- Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, calipers, and precision tools
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided as needed)
- Back up shear operations as production needs require
- Maintain quality standards consistent with AS9100 requirements

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Preferred Qualifications (Training Available for Entry-Level Candidates):
- CNC press brake experience strongly preferred
- OR entry-level candidates with mechanical aptitude, shop math fundamentals, and a desire to learn
- Ability to read or learn to read complex drawings and specifications
- Interest in sheet metal forming and precision fabrication
- Willingness to learn tooling selection and setup procedures
- Comfortable working in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus (certification preferred; training available)
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and quality-driven
