We are looking for a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in the Netherlands. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting processes, ensure compliance with Dutch statutory requirements, and provide high‑quality financial insights that support business decision‑making. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and cross‑functional teams to maintain strong financial governance and deliver accurate, timely reporting. What you will be doing…
Asset Accounting & Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
Manage the month‑end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Ensure accurate general ledger maintenance and oversee key balance sheet accounts.
Support the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
Monitor compliance with local tax regulations and support VAT, CIT, and other statutory filings.
Financial Controls & Compliance
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring adherence to company policies and Dutch regulatory requirements.
Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Support internal and external audit requests and ensure timely resolution of findings.
Project Support
Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA stabilisation and optimisation.
Support integration activities for new entities or business changes.
What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in an international corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
Experience with Dutch statutory reporting and tax compliance (VAT, CIT).
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Exact, AFAS) and advanced Excel skills.
Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
