As a Software Engineer II on the ML Model Platform team at Indeed, you will be a key contributor to the platform’s SDK, the programmatic foundation of Indeed’s ML Model Platform. You will design and build high-performance, reusable components used by hundreds of ML practitioners to move from research to production impact.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering and machine learning, building essential components and libraries that enable a wide range of ML model approaches with high-performance and at scale. You’ll collaborate closely with Data Scientists to understand their needs, participate in technical design decisions for the SDK’s architecture, and ensure our libraries are performant, scalable, and easy to adopt. You’ll play a critical role in evolving our techstack to stay in line with cutting-edge industry technologies.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards
• Own and support applications during business hours, ensuring system health and reliability
• Use metrics, logging, and analytics to make data-informed decisions and improve system performance
• Collaborate closely with partners across engineering, product, data science, and design to deliver solutions
• Contribute to cross-team initiatives and support the growth of other engineers through mentorship and knowledge sharing

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks like PyTorch.
• Experience building ML infrastructure, including data preprocessing pipelines (such as PySpark or Ray), model deployment workflows, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker)
• Solid communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience developing reusable components, shared libraries, or SDKs
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
