Job Summary:
The Teaching Professional plays a key role in delivering an exceptional racquet sports experience at Palmetto Bluff. This position supports the daily operations of the racquet while providing high-quality instruction, fostering member/guest engagement, and upholding the club’s standards of hospitality and service excellence.
The ideal candidate is energetic, service-driven, and passionate about racquet sports, with a strong ability to connect with members and guests of all ages and skill levels.

Essential Job Functions:
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide a high-quality service environment to all members and guests.
- Deliver a warm, professional, and personalized experience for all members and guests.
- Help foster relationships through active engagement on court and throughout the facility.
- Provide private lessons, group clinics, junior programming, and special events.
- Promote participation in racquet sports through clinics, mixers, and social events.
- Maintain court appearance, equipment organization, and overall cleanliness to club standards.
- Perform racquet stringing, re-gripping, and minor equipment repairs as needed.
- Assist with camps, holiday events, mixers, and tournaments.
- Assist with teaching private, group and special event lessons and clinics for children and adults.
- Support coordination and administration of USTA and club teams as directed.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding member feedback, programming, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- RSPA or PTR certification preferred.
- Minimum of two years of tennis teaching experience.
- Knowledge and certifications in additional racquet sports such as pickleball or padel is beneficial.
- Experience working in a club, resort, or racquet facility environment preferred.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, support departments, members, and guests.
Physical Requirements:
- Most tasks are performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, windy and wet weather.
- Temperature can be extreme but is usually moderate.
- Frequently works near moving/mechanical parts.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands; bend and stoop; remain at post standing for extended periods of time; required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
