Health Specialist - Float Pool

This is an as-needed position for any school that needs a Health Specialist Substitute. Hours are as needed.

Position Overview

The Health Specialist – Float Pool provides health services support across multiple school sites, including administering first aid, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining health records, and supporting healthcare professionals in delivering student health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer first aid and assist with emergency health care needs.
  • Provide prescribed medications and specialized treatments under medical direction.
  • Assist with health screenings and student health evaluations.
  • Maintain health records and documentation.
  • Monitor students referred to the health room.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory.
  • Communicate with parents and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.
  • Assist nurses with health care plans and documentation.
  • Support school staff in maintaining student safety and health protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements – Minimum Qualifications

Skills

Administering first aid and CPR
Maintaining medical records and documentation

Knowledge

Emergency health procedures and medication administration
School health regulations and safety protocols

Abilities

Provide care to students with medical needs
Maintain confidentiality of health information
Communicate effectively with parents and staff

Experience

Two years of health-related experience required (MA, EMT, or similar).

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.
