Job Description

Cook Advanced Technologies (Cook AT) offers an exciting start-up atmosphere with the security of a large company and is passionate about making a difference in improving the health and well-being of patients worldwide. Cook AT is currently accepting applications for a Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. This position is responsible for the application of engineering principles to research and develop various medical devices under the direction of an Engineer.

  • Interact with Engineers to plan, complete and report results of experiments, tests, prototype development, literature surveys, etc.
  • Provide support to other team members upon request and where reasonable.
  • Ask questions and learn about project expectations while driving toward scientific excellence.
  • Work with engineers to define tasks.
  • Follow procedures pertinent to tasks being performed.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is kept detailing project history (reports, laboratory notebooks, invention disclosures, scientific literature, meeting notes, deliverables, etc.)

 

  • Enrolled in or a recent graduate of a BS (or advanced degree) program in engineering, engineering technology, engineering science or equivalent experience.
  • Conscientious person with good work ethic.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate the completion of deliverables and tasks.
  • Teachable, positive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and to help.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and constructively collaborate with colleagues.
  • Personal discipline.
  • Ability to work with multiple persons and the multiple priorities that occur when each person has different needs.
  • Ability to remain professional and positive in all personal interactions.
