Job Description

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Senior Systems Engineer (Submarine Combat Systems).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job SummarySEACORP's Tactical Solutions Business Area is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer
to lead technical planning and integration efforts for the AN/BYG-1 Submarine
Combat System and the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS)
architecture. In this role you will serve as a key technical pivot point, assisting
with baseline management and technical assessment to ensure system
compatibility. You will conduct systems engineering to drive integration of
interdependent software systems across the submarine fleet. The ideal candidate brings a
blend of "big picture" systems thinking and granular technical
expertise in C4I systems and off-hull coordination.

Job Responsibilities Include: 

  • Systems
    & Project Management: Lead the planning and management of complex
    technical baselines, ensuring configuration control and alignment with
    program milestones.
  • Architecture
    & Integration: Manage the technical dependencies of the SWFTS
    architecture, specifically focusing on the interoperability of Command,
    Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) systems.
  • Cross-Functional
    Leadership: Work across multi-disciplinary teams to conduct technical
    planning for the fielding of interdependent software systems.
  • Technical
    Liaison: Facilitate off-hull interoperability by defining and managing
    interface requirements and technical dependencies with external
    stakeholders.
  • Systems
    Analysis: Conduct rigorous requirements analysis for payload integration
    and assess the impacts of system changes on submarine control systems.
  • Strategic
    Planning: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with system
    modernization and tactical software insertion.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
(Master’s degree preferred).

Experience8+ years
of systems engineering experience (or equivalent) within the defense industry,
specifically supporting submarine combat systems.

Additional Skills and Experience: 

  • Technical
    Domain: In-depth, "hands-on" knowledge of the AN/BYG-1 and the
    SWFTS federated architecture.
  • C4I
    Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of C4I system interfaces and
    submarine-specific communication protocols.
  • Planning
    Prowess: Proven ability to manage technical baselines and conduct
    high-level project planning for complex hardware/software integrations.
  • Exceptional
    ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable
    project plans.
  • Strong
    collaborative spirit, capable of influencing outcomes across diverse
    engineering teams.
  • Analytical
    mindset with a focus on payload integration and system-wide impacts.
  •  Clearance:
    Active DOD Secret Security clearance.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Location:   Middletown, RI

Travel:   Infrequently (<3 annually)

Clearance:   Secret

Work Environment & Physical Demands:  Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
