Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Supply Planning, the Master Supply Planner serves as the orchestrator of the end-to-end supply plan, integrating multiple sources of planning intelligence to shape, communicate, and influence enterprise decisions. This role is accountable for continuously evolving the capacity and inventory plan that enables demand fulfillment across all regions while balancing cost, service level, and optimal network for an assigned product portfolio.
The Master Supply Planner synthesizes inputs from demand signals, operational constraints, inventory strategies, and financial objectives, leveraging advanced planning systems, analytics, and standardized process to create a coherent, actionable supply plan. Rather than producing a static plan, this role translates complexity into options, framing trade-offs, risks, and opportunities to guide decision-making through the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
The Master Supply Planner supports and collaborates with many stakeholders and functional areas including:
- Manufacturing & Operations Leadership - to translate operational capabilities and constraints into scenario-based supply plans
- Demand Planning - to interpret forecast signals into an agile supply plan that supports unconstrained demand.
- Brand Management - to convert the brand strategy into an actionable supply plan, clearly communicating options and impacts
- Sales, Strategy and Trade - to understand selling strategy and customer approach to build item-level inventory plan
- Plant Production Scheduling - to align on the production and execution of the overall supply plan
- Finance - to ensure supply is planned to the cost-optimal network and inventory impacts are understood
- Integrated Planning Center of Excellence - to fully leverage technology and system capabilities to enable advanced planning
Working Location: Hybrid
- This role is located at the Lakeville, MN Corporate office
- Typical hybrid schedule includes 3 days in-office with remote flexibility up to 2 days a week.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Create and manage a timely and accurate Supply Plan that delivers the lowest possible delivered-cost and optimize inventory plan for assigned product portfolio
- Lead cross functional input planning meetings to gather capacity planning inputs
- Maintain inventory target strategy for the assigned product portfolio, to establish the inventory settings that guide execution and prebuild plans
- Summarize and present supply plan narrative, creating organizational confidence in a supply outlook that meets the demand plan within available capacity
- Assess total network inventory position by asset, optimizing tradeoffs where required in partnership cross-functional stakeholders
- Partner with Supply Chain Coordinators to handoff supply plan outlooks from long-term horizon into the executional window. Collaborate to align DRP settings with network inventory visibility and execute short-horizon demand opportunities within capacity constraints.
- Continuous improvement mindset to provide recommendations to improve service levels, inventory strategy, and reduce costs through process or execution improvements
- Track and report KPIs on significant supply variances, perform root cause analysis and make the appropriate revisions within the Supply plan
- Act as subject matter expert, super user, training developer or trainer as assigned
- Fully leverage available technologies and system capabilities to execute input-driven planning and strive towards touchless planning

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Finance, or related field is required
- Professional certification from APICS is desirable
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5 years of combined related experience operating in areas of master supply planning, inventory control, production scheduling, demand management, capacity management, materials management, or distribution resource planning; with preference in food processing and packaging
- Integrated planning systems training like ERP/DRP/MPS/MRP/CRP is required; experience with advanced planning systems is preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
- Ability to think critically and use analytical skills to draw conclusions from known inputs and develop recommendations
- Must be able to effectively interact, collaborate and communicate across multiple functions in the organization
- Demonstrated use of emerging technologies like AI, Tableau, Sigma, as well as advanced use of Excel is preferred
