Senske Family of Companies (SFC) is currently hiring for an Accounting Specialist to assist the finance department with various accounting-related duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bill payment and application
- Posting of checks and other deposits
- Work with other accountants to consolidate supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned. Identify and timely resolve/clear any reconciling items
- Ensure that entries are appropriately classified and in the correct account and are fully supported
- Prepare and record adjusting journal entries as needed
- Business License renewals
- Respond timely to both internal and external requests as needed
- Periodically solicit feedback from internal contacts for performance and improvement
- Communicate with accountants about any issues
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-Year Accounting certification or degree OR (Relevant work experience may be substituted for certification or degree)
- Previous experience with: Sage software (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, (especially Excel skills), Understanding of accounting principles including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payment posting, accrual entries, etc.
