We are seeking a skilled Paint Shop Technician to join our team in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Reporting to the Paint Shop Lead Hand, you will work with minimal supervision and play a key role in delivering high-quality aircraft finishes.

This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role encompassing all stages of the aircraft painting process from surface preparation to final coating and inspection. Your work will directly contribute to the safety, durability, and appearance of our specialized fleet.

In this role your duties will include the following:

  • Prepare, clean, strip, chemically treat, and paint aircraft surfaces, components, and assemblies
  • Apply primers, coatings, decals, and custom markings to specification
  • Layout and mask designs, lettering, and registration markings from technical drawings
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality and compliance with standards
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members
  • Promote a positive, safety-focused team culture
  • Stay current with maintenance bulletins, procedures, and safety updates
  • Perform other related duties as required

Our ideal candidate would be an individual who has:

  • Strong knowledge of WHMIS requirements and safe handling of coatings and chemicals
  • Advanced understanding of paints, primers, and surface preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with aircraft materials and coating compatibility
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, drawings, and product specifications
  • Experience using and maintaining painting tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills with a collaborative mindset

Training/Education:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Formal training in refinishing (preferred)
  • 5 years of painting experience (preferred)
  • Aircraft refinishing experience (asset)
  • CCAA Painter Certification (asset)
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
