| Role Summary | The Payroll Implementation Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of Payroll Implementation Consultants / Analysts delivering payroll integrations for Health, Wealth, and Defined Contribution (DC) benefits on the Benefitfocus platform. This role combines hands-on payroll implementation expertise with people leadership, delivery oversight, and stakeholder management to ensure payroll integrations are delivered accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with agreed client scope. The Team Lead acts as the escalation point for complex payroll integrations, ensures consistent implementation standards across the team, and drives successful client outcomes from payroll discovery through production deployment and transition to Ongoing Payroll Support. |
| Key Roles & Responsibilities | • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Payroll Implementation Consultants. • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career guidance to team members. • Balance team capacity, workload distribution, and delivery priorities across multiple implementations. • Ensure adherence to implementation best practices, quality standards, and documentation requirements. • Oversee end-to-end payroll integration delivery for assigned client implementations. • Review payroll requirements, integration designs, configurations, and testing strategies. • Serve as escalation point for complex payroll scenarios, data issues, or client concerns. • Ensure payroll integrations align with Benefitfocus platform standards and implementation methodologies. • Partner with Implementation Project Managers, Solution Consultants, and Client Stakeholders. • Participate in payroll discovery sessions for complex or high-impact clients. • Manage client expectations related to payroll scope, timelines, risks, and dependencies. • Communicate delivery status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and internal stakeholders. • Ensure comprehensive payroll testing coverage, including parallel payroll validation. • Review test results, discrepancy analysis, and resolution approaches. • Proactively identify delivery risks and implement corrective actions. • Drive consistent client sign-off processes before production deployment. • Ensure smooth payroll go-live execution and stabilization. • Oversee structured transition of payroll integrations to the Ongoing Payroll Support Team. • Ensure accurate handoff documentation and knowledge transfer. • Identify process improvements and optimization opportunities across payroll implementations. |
