    The Appleton Area School District has part-time positions available for Bus Aides. These are hourly, non-benefit-eligible positions.

    Various Routes Available: 

    AM Routes (6:30am-8:45am) 
    Noon Routes (11:00 am- 1:00 pm)
    PM Routes (3:00 pm-5:15 pm)

    School Transportation Aides work with the Associate Director of Special Education, classroom special education teachers, paraprofessionals, drivers and students to ensure a safe means of travel from school while riding School District-provided transportation. 

    DUTIES: Assist and supervise special needs students who ride vehicles to school; physically assist students up and down vehicle steps; guide students in transferring from one vehicle to another; help students who are not capable of doing so on their own to safely cross the streets when other means of assistance are not available; secure students who use wheelchairs or car seats with seat belts or seat restraints as determined through individualized needs; supervise conduct of all students to maintain a safe ride; follow  proper disciplinary procedures for those students who violate the safe riding regulations; perform additional duties as assigned.

    * Requires DPI Certification (Special Education Program Aide License #883) - may apply for license after position has been awarded 
    * Minimum of high school diploma or HSED/GED 
    * Ability to work with children with learning difficulties and/or challenging behaviors 
    * Ability to maintain confidentiality
