Position Title: Substitute Teacher
Skills and
Qualifications
• Must hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate or be eligible for a
substitute certificate with an AA degree
• Successful substitute teaching experience preferred
• Successful experience working with children.
Reports To Building Principal
Major Tasks and
Responsibilities:
• Follow all lesson plans and other instruction provided by the regular teacher
and/or school
• Assume responsibility for duties assigned to the regular teacher
• Provide instruction and modify instruction to meet the diverse learning needs
of all students
• Demonstrate effective classroom management
• Create a safe and positive classroom environment conducive to learning
• Work collaboratively within school, and district to support all students
learning
• Foster a positive attitude with students, parents and staff
• Utilize effective human relations and/or communication skills
• Complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research based best practices
• Other duties as assigned.
