About the role
The Account Manager will develop, lead, grow and maintain a piece of Candor’s business that will deliver superior client experience while growing relationships between current clients and Candor Expedite. This role is a hybrid position that includes both business development and operational responsibilities. It includes serving as the operational point of contact for all shipments within the service lines (expedite, truckload, or multimodal, etc.) for a group of clients. Through client relationships, this person will be expected to identify opportunities for new business and execute on these for Candor’s growth. Important tasks include leadership and mentoring of operational staff with a focus on operational excellence, ownership of larger clients, and identifying opportunities for growth across existing client companies.
What you'll do
- • Manage & secure commitments by analyzing opportunities by accounts, lanes, market margins.
- • Sets expectations with clients regarding operational processes, quotes, orders, and services.
- • Oversee profitable and sustainable sales growth of all assigned accounts.
- • Oversee gross sales, account revenues, and gross margins by account by lane and profitability.
- • Partner with Carrier sales to secure dedicated volume & capacity based on account needs.
- • Manages account specific requirements - SOP's, KPI's including revenue, profit, margin, managing quotes and handling claims or hurdles with accounts
- • Handle all problems, issues, or concerns that any client has and proactively identifies solutions for problems as they arise in an efficient and effective manner.
- • Identify prospects, develop leads, create opportunities, secure commitments, manage awarded business and continually develop relationships.
- • Define work based on evaluation of short and long-term goals of the team.
- • Collaborate with teammates on forecasting, business planning, and growth strategy.
- • Leading employee teams and additionally work as an individual contributor simultaneously.
- • Serves as a driving force behind business reviews, efficiency reporting, and other customer meetings.
- • Collaborate with accounting team to ensure all invoices are paid timely and all detention and added accessorial charges are completed throughout the entry process.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- • Experience in project management, business development or related area
- • Experience managing multiple clients, projects and/or teams to achieve a high service level.
- • A basic understanding of freight, shipping & transportation, supply chain, and client service related to the industry.
