About the Role
Crowe provides audit, tax, advisory, and consulting services to help clients navigate complex business and financial challenges. Our Valuation Services practice is a growing and dynamic team delivering high-quality valuation and advisory solutions across industries.
As a Consultant, you will support machinery & equipment (M&E) and broader personal property valuation engagements. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to build foundational expertise in asset valuation while gaining exposure to financial reporting, transaction advisory, and compliance-related engagements in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
What Will You Be Doing?
You will support the valuation of a wide range of personal property assets, including manufacturing and warehouse equipment, office furniture and fixtures, computer equipment and software, laboratory and testing equipment, vehicles, tooling, molds and dies, leasehold improvements, and construction-in-progress.
Engagements may include:
Purchase price allocation (PPA)
Impairment testing
Tax and financial reporting
Transaction advisory
Insolvency and restructuring engagements
Insurance replacement cost analyses
Under the guidance of senior team members, you will review company-provided information (such as financial statements, fixed asset registers, invoices, technical specifications, and maintenance records) and contribute to valuation analyses using cost, market, and income approaches. You will also conduct industry and market research, assist with site inspections, and support the preparation of client deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in executing machinery & equipment and personal property valuation engagements
Support virtual assessments to document asset condition, remaining useful life, and other key characteristics
Gather, organize, and analyze client data, including fixed asset registers and technical documentation
Build and maintain valuation models and financial analyses in Microsoft Excel
Conduct market and industry research to support assumptions related to pricing, depreciation, and obsolescence
Assist in preparing valuation reports, including methodologies, assumptions, and conclusions
Ensure work aligns with applicable standards such as US GAAP, FASB, SEC guidelines, and International Valuation Standards (IVS), as well as Crowe’s internal quality requirements
Participate in client calls and meetings, documenting key discussion points and follow-ups
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (audit, tax, corporate finance) on integrated engagements
Support proposal development through research, data compilation, and presentation preparation
Core Qualifications
1–2 years of relevant experience in valuation, accounting, finance, engineering, or related fields (strong internship experience considered)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial), Economics, or related discipline
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Basic understanding of valuation methodologies (cost, market, and income approaches) and asset lifecycle concepts (useful life, depreciation, obsolescence)
Interest in pursuing professional valuation certifications (e.g., ASA, RICS, or equivalent)
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
Willingness to travel (as required) for site inspections and client engagements
