Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

A Maintenance Technician ensures the satisfactory upkeep and repair of plant tools, equipment, and machinery.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Satisfactory and timely completion of paperwork, reports, work orders, and audits
  • Perform maintenance functions safely though the appropriate use of hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, scissor lifts and fork trucks
  • Perform routine LOTO on various machines, adhering to both safety and written procedures for industrial equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on various machines, adhering to both safety and written procedures for industrial equipment.
  • Use test equipment such as a multi-meter, oscilloscope and pressure gauges
  • Efficiently and timely communicate progress, updates, and concerns to appropriate parties
  • Effectively navigate, utilize, and create various software and machine programs, including CNC
  • Display, encourage, and maintain a professional work environment through the timely completion of projects, respectful communication, utilizing teamwork, integrity, accountability and excellence
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply wiring schematics and diagrams, and layout drawings
  • Ability to make quality judgements and prioritize responsibilities to minimize plant downtime
  • Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two (2) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

 

Required Physical Ability:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, climb, and perform various duties from a ladder at various heights
  • Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lb

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures
  • Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses and ear protection
  • The noise level is usually moderate to high
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work as required
