Engineer II – Sewer Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (hours may vary)

What You'll Do
You'll lead sewer infrastructure projects from concept through construction-guiding teams, driving decisions, and delivering work that directly impacts public health and city growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, and construction of sewer capital improvement projects • Coordinate with operations, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies • Oversee system improvements including lift stations, septic elimination, and inflow reduction • Supervise staff, assign work, and ensure quality and progress across projects • Develop budgets, track expenditures, and support long-term system planning
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop Sewer Program staff • Support hiring, training, and performance management • Provide leadership coverage for Engineering management as needed
What You Bring | Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related ABET-accredited program • Seven (7) years of relevant engineering experience • Strong experience in infrastructure or utility project delivery
Preferred Certifications
- Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 6 months • Valid Indiana Driver's License
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Sewer system design, hydraulics, and construction practices • Environmental and regulatory compliance (NPDES, consent decree) • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling tools
