EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The minimum qualifications are one (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with school age children requiring a specialized learning environment. Under current State and Federal Law, requirements include proof of a high school diploma or its equivalent to be submitted with completed application and meet one of the three requirements: A) Completion of 2 years of study (48 units) at an institution of higher learning, or B) an Associate degree or higher, or C) pass a rigorous District-administered assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and math.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to lifting and anti-social and/or assaultive behavior.

SPECIAL INFORMATION: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, TB test and fingerprinting. The drug screen is paid by the District and $40.00 fingerprint cost is paid for by the candidate.

Range 38: Hiring Regular Staff $20.30 per hour (advance step placement at Step 3)
