Position: ESY Behavior Specialist (BCBA)

Location: Hosmer Elementary School
Reports to: ESY Coordinators
Dates: July 6- August 6, 2026
Salary range: $42.00/Hourly
General Description:
The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. The BCBA works to proactively and reactively support students with behavioral and learning challenges that interfere with school success.
Responsibilities:
- Review and implement student IEPs and behavior plans as relevant to the program.
- Create individual student support plans that meet the needs of students within the program. The student support plans may include planned break schedules, calm-down routines, verbal and non-verbal cues, visual schedules, etc.
- Work directly with one specific student, multiple student(s), and/or assist with an entire group depending on student and program needs.
- Track student behaviors and interventions. Maintain ABC data as appropriate/ applicable.
- Provide Safety Care support as needed.
Qualifications Required:
- Ability to effectively work with students to prevent problem behaviors, de-escalate behavioral episodes, and re-integrate students into the instructional environment.
- Experience with Responsive Classroom and/or Restorative Approaches.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with and provide quality training to adults.
- Safety Care qualified, with ability to apply techniques with students.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field required; Masters preferred
- DESE License as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst preferred
- Experience supporting students with behavioral challenges in a public school setting
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification

Physical Demands:
