Description
The Maintenance & Reliability Coordinator leads the planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement of maintenance operations across the Central Region. This role blends detailed maintenance coordination with reliability leadership, driving Total Process Reliability (TPR) initiatives and improving how work is planned, executed, and sustained.
Partnering closely with Plant Teams and leadership, this position helps ensure maintenance activities are efficient, well-coordinated, and continuously evolving to improve performance, reduce downtime, and support overall operational excellence.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Manage work orders from creation to completion in CMMS ensuring data accuracy and proper system maintenance.
- Develop job plans including labor, materials, special tools, safety procedures, and job steps to support efficient execution.
- Partner with Foreman to prioritize and schedule weekly maintenance.
- Coordinate contractors, parts, and resources ensuring they are prepared and ready ahead of all scheduled work.
- Lead weekly planning meetings with mechanics to discuss completed and upcoming work.
- Track and prepare reports for maintenance and scheduling including all relevant KPIs.
- Act as a subject matter expert to support and promote Total Process Reliability (TPR) initiative across the region through training, facilitation, in-person crew visits, communication, and success results.
- Identify gaps using job feedback and reports to design improvements to job plans, reliability processes and maintenance.
- Work directly with TPR Manager to act as the liaison between TPR Steering Council, Implementation Teams, and Focus/Breakthrough Teams for Central Region.
- Facilitate the training and implementation of Operator Care SOP, 5S method, Controls, Equipment Improvement Teams, and CLAIRE (Cleaning, Lubricating, Adjusting, Inspecting, Repairing, Eliminating).
- Conduct regular audits and support follow-up actions based on findings.
- Work cross-functionally with plant leadership, mechanics, and support teams.
- Keep leadership informed on TPR progress, maintenance planning needs, and improvement priorities.
- Assist with scheduling during outages and short notice work changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Experience around heavy equipment is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and scheduling.
- Knowledge of reliability concepts, TPR methods, 5S method, and continuous improvement tools.
- Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lead, coach, and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills working across all organizational levels.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and training sessions driving engagement and participant understanding.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Willingness to embrace change and drive improvement.
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, or weekends when required.
- Ability to adhere to Superior policies and other safety regulations.
- Ability to read, follow and interpret safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, plans and grade.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be 18 years of age.
