REPORTS TO:  HEAD COACH, TRACK & FIELD

STATUS: PART-TIME, EXEMPT

 

 

 

Lake Erie College, located in Painesville, OH, invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant, Track & Field. This is a 10-month appointment, each year, for two consecutive years, pending successful evaluation at the end of year one. The Graduate Assistant, Track & Field is responsible for duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Track & Field and will manage a secondary responsibility as defined.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Serves as recruiter for the sport of track & field and cross country, identifying and evaluating potential students with that interest and organizing their recruitment in conjunction with the Office of Admission.

  • Assists with organization of all aspects of the program, including coaching and management of facility, practice, and team operations.

  • Helps execute team fundraising efforts, including participation in camps and clinics.

  • Handles uniform and equipment maintenance and inventory.

  • Assists with student-athlete study table coverage and coordination.

  • Projects and promotes an inclusive education with the highest standards, where student-athletes are empowered to leave lives of personal significance and professional success as global citizens.

  • Acts as an ambassador of the College and conducts oneself in a positive manner to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.

  • Operates within the mission of the College and athletics department to ensure a full NCAA DII student-athlete experience.

  • Follows all institutional, GMAC and NCAA regulations regarding track & field and cross country and athletics in general.

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends and to travel for team practices, competition, and scouting.

  • Assists with transportation of team in vans or bus, upon approval.

  • Follows all terms and conditions per the Policy for Graduate Assistants.

  • Other duties as assigned by Head Coach, Track & Field or Director of Athletics.
