Job Description

Sylmar Health and Rehabilitation Center is a locked psychiatric facility. We are currently seeking a Security Guard for our residential mental health treatment program for men and women. Pay starting at $23.50/hr. (FT)

 

Full Time: 3pm to 11pm (Tuesday to Saturday)

Part Time: 3pm to 11pm (Saturday to Monday)

 

Job Summary: Providing high level of customer service by ensuring there is a safe and therapeutic environment for all residents, staff, and visitors. Our Security Guard shall monitor, supervise, and engage with residents through direct and indirect interactions.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Maintains supervision over the general milieu within the units to ensure quality resident care. Ensure the safety of residents and staff on the units

 

· Maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment which fosters growth rehabilitation and facilitates the development of self help skills among individuals

 

· Observe, monitor and report any suspicious behaviors, issues, and or safety threats

 

· Making presence known and maximized in areas where abundance of residents reside

 

· Monitor hallways during and after program hours.

 

· Develop rapport with clients and provide a safe environment for them

 

· Communicate with treatment teams regarding clients' progress and concerns

 

· Provide assistance for clients who need support

 

· Inspect the facility for safety and maintenance

 

· Providing Life Skills Support / Crisis Management and De-escalation to identified residents

 

· Work with residents who are awake after hours to assess needs and help facilitate requests or conflicts that may occur to keep premises stable and calm

 

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Qualifications:

 

· Must have CA issued Security Guard Card.

 

· Experience working with mental health population (preferred)

 

· High School Diploma or its equivalent

 

· Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills.

 

Schedule:

 

· Full Time and Part Time Available

 

· 3p-11p

 

 

· Weekends
