Duties and Responsibilities:

• The safe and efficient operation of assigned motor vehicle

• Extensive contact with clients of the facility

• Assisting ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals enter and leave the vehicle

• Ensuring that passengers are safely seated inside the motor vehicle

• Securing clients’ mobility devices such as walkers and wheelchairs

• Performing preventive maintenance functions such as checking lights, maintaining fluid levels, checking tire pressure, etc. and notifying supervisory personnel of need for further service or repair

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of methods and techniques used to load, secure, and unload passengers from a motor vehicle, will train the right candidate

• Skill in the operation and basic maintenance of assigned motor vehicle

• Ability to find geographic locations

• Ability to follow oral/ written instructions and keep a record of activities

• Ability to lift, maneuver, and support materials of up to 80 pounds

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff

• Possession of a valid unencumbered driver’s license. Must not have any points on license for the last 5 years.

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities a plus
