Duties and Responsibilities:
The safe and efficient operation of assigned motor vehicle
Extensive contact with clients of the facility
Assisting ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals enter and leave the vehicle
Ensuring that passengers are safely seated inside the motor vehicle
Securing clients’ mobility devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
Performing preventive maintenance functions such as checking lights, maintaining fluid levels, checking tire pressure, etc. and notifying supervisory personnel of need for further service or repair
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of methods and techniques used to load, secure, and unload passengers from a motor vehicle, will train the right candidate
Skill in the operation and basic maintenance of assigned motor vehicle
Ability to find geographic locations
Ability to follow oral/ written instructions and keep a record of activities
Ability to lift, maneuver, and support materials of up to 80 pounds
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff
Possession of a valid unencumbered driver’s license. Must not have any points on license for the last 5 years.
Experience:
Experience working with individuals with disabilities a plus
