PROFILE OF A LIBERTY HILL ISD EDUCATOR
Liberty Hill Educators are compassionate leaders, effective collaborators, adaptable thinkers,

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the districtwide
comprehensive developmental counseling program aligned with district goals and student needs.
Provide leadership, guidance, and professional learning to campus administrators and school
counselors to support students’ social, emotional, academic, and career development. Coordinate
district initiatives related to counseling services and ensure alignment with state requirements and
best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
● Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
● Valid Texas school counselor certificate
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
● Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development
● Knowledge of the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and the
ASCA National Model
● Knowledge of state graduation requirements, college and career readiness initiatives, and
applicable federal and state laws related to student services
● Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
● Ability to collaborate effectively with campus administrators and district staff
● Ability to analyze student data and program outcomes to guide program improvement

EXPERIENCE
● Minimum of five years of experience in school counseling required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Program Leadership and Development
● Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the district’s
comprehensive school counseling program aligned with district priorities and the Texas
Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs.
● Analyze student data and program outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling
services and identify areas for improvement.
● Ensure counseling programs across campuses are implemented consistently and align with
district expectations, state requirements, and best practices.
● Ensure counseling programs support students’ academic achievement, social-emotional
development, and college, career, and military readiness.
● Collaborate with campus administrators to support consistent implementation of counseling
services, graduation planning, and student support practices across all campuses.
● Develop and maintain district guidelines, procedures, and resources that support effective
counseling programs and services.
● Monitor counseling program implementation across campuses and provide guidance to
ensure alignment with district expectations and best practices.
● Support campuses in implementing student planning processes including personal
graduation plans, course planning, and postsecondary readiness initiatives.
● Facilitate collaboration among school counselors to promote consistency, sharing of best
practices, and continuous program improvement across the district.
● Provide leadership and guidance to school counselors and campus administrators to
ensure consistent implementation of the district’s comprehensive counseling program.
● Support district initiatives related to student planning, course selection, graduation
pathways, and postsecondary readiness to ensure alignment across campuses.
● Support district initiatives related to college, career, and military readiness, including
graduation planning, postsecondary pathways, and student access to advanced academic
opportunities.
● Maintain current knowledge of counseling best practices and evolving legal requirements,
and provide ongoing professional development to the Counseling Services team as needs
arise.

● Provide leadership and guidance to campuses in delivering counseling services that
address students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
● Coordinate the district counseling response during crisis situations and collaborate with
district and campus leadership to support students and staff.
● Assist campuses in connecting students and families with appropriate school and
community resources.
● Provide guidance to campus administrators and counselors regarding student support
services, intervention strategies, and available resources.
● Promote a school environment that acknowledges and respects diversity and supports the
well-being of all students.
● Collaborate with community agencies and mental health providers to support student
needs and ensure appropriate referral processes are in place across campuses.
Professional Learning and Collaboration
● Design and deliver professional learning for school counselors and campus administrators
related to counseling programs, student supports, and state requirements.
● Provide guidance and resources to counselors to support effective implementation of the
comprehensive counseling program.
● Facilitate regular meetings with counselors to promote collaboration, consistency of
practices, and sharing of best practices across campuses.
● Collaborate with district departments and campus leadership to support initiatives related to
student services, college and career readiness, and student well-being.
● Attend and participate in local, regional, and state meetings related to counseling programs
and student support services to remain current on best practices and emerging trends.
Compliance, Policy, and Reporting
● Ensure counseling programs and services comply with federal and state laws, State Board
of Education rules, and local board policy.
● Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines related to counseling programs and
services to support consistent practices across the district.
● Provide guidance to campus administrators and counselors regarding applicable laws,
regulations, and ethical standards related to counseling services.
● Compile, maintain, and submit required reports, records, and documentation related to
counseling programs and services.
● Recommend updates to district procedures and practices related to counseling services to
maintain compliance and support continuous improvement.
Budget and Resources
● Develop and administer the counseling department budget based on documented program
needs and ensure that resources are used effectively.

across the district.
● Identify program needs and recommend resources that support effective counseling

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Supervise assigned staff and provide guidance and support to campus administrators and
school counselors regarding implementation of the district counseling program.
