About the Role:
As a Therapist at Woodland Recovery Center, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges and life transitions. Your primary objective will be to provide compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that promote emotional well-being and resilience. You will work collaboratively with clients to assess their psychological needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate individual or group therapy sessions. This role requires a deep understanding of diverse therapeutic modalities and the ability to adapt approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving clients' quality of life by helping them manage mental health conditions, resolve crises, and develop coping strategies for long-term success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
- Valid state professional licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling.
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and ethical standards in mental health care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse client populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, adults, and families.
- Training or certification in specialized therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
- Background in group therapy facilitation and family systems therapy.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms.
- Additional certifications in areas such as trauma-informed care or substance abuse counseling.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify client needs and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using counseling psychology and psychotherapy techniques.
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address mental health issues and promote healing.
- Provide crisis intervention and support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or life transitions.
- Utilize anger management strategies and other therapeutic tools to help clients develop healthy coping mechanisms.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers and social workers, to coordinate holistic care.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging research in mental health counseling and therapy.

The required skills such as Counseling Psychology, Group Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling are essential for conducting thorough assessments and delivering effective therapeutic interventions tailored to individual and group needs. Family Therapy and Psychotherapy skills enable the therapist to address complex relational dynamics and promote healing within family systems. Crisis Intervention and Anger Management skills are critical for managing acute emotional episodes and helping clients develop constructive coping strategies. Life Transitions expertise supports clients navigating significant changes, ensuring continuity of care and emotional support. Preferred skills like specialized therapeutic certifications and familiarity with teletherapy enhance the therapist’s ability to provide flexible, evidence-based care in diverse settings.
