What We Are Looking For
GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Journeyman Electrician to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for performing service calls in both residential and commercial environments. Our Journeyman Electrician must apply relevant electrical codes to troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical wiring and circuitry issues. Additionally, you will be tasked with installing and repairing electrical equipment and wiring, roughing in feeders and branch circuit cables, splicing electric or communication cables and trunk lines, and trimming out (finishing) electrical devices.
Your Pay
The minimum starting pay for this role is $29.00/hr plus bonuses that are tied to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience.
How You’ll Help
- Utilize equipment, gauges, and other measuring devices to test electrical equipment
- Provide accurate analysis by thoroughly scoping each job and presenting detailed, customer-ready estimates
- Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance
- Complete maintenance and repair records as required
- Respond quickly to emergency situations and call for additional assistance as needed
- Review historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedule
- Operate company vehicle safely and follow specified routines to service locations in a timely manner
Experience/Skills You’ll Need
- Journeyman Electrician license as dictated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
- Willingness to take directions from GVEC’s Master Electrician and Operations Manager
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
- Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Ability and willingness to work at heights greater than 25 feet above the ground
- Follow all safety guidelines
- Effectively troubleshoot minor issues independently
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Minimum of four years’ experience as a licensed electrician
