About the Department

About the Role

Prince William County Government offers career opportunities in various administrative roles.  The ideal candidates are detail-oriented, highly organized individuals with expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.  They provide administrative/clerical support within the assigned department.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to public service.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation
  • Maintain records, databases, and filing systems in compliance with county standards
  • Assist with budget tracking, procurement requests, and invoice processing
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal staff, external partners, and community members
  • Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and presentations
  • Support department projects and initiatives as assigned

 Minimum Qualifications – varies by position

  • Education 
  • Experience range
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business or public administration
  • Bilingual skills
