Job Description

POSITION:  College Career Military Readiness (CCMR) Coordinator


 


EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt


 


NUMBER OF DAYS:  187


 


PAY GRADE:  Teacher Salary


 


DEPARTMENT:  Secondary School Leadership 


 


REPORTS TO:  Principal/Director of CTE (Career and Technology Education)


 


SUPERVISES:  None


 


EDUCATION: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate


 


EXPERIENCE:  Two years’ experience as a classroom teacher preferred


 
























Position Function/Purpose


Provide campus personnel and district personnel updated and accurate campus data regarding students’ CCMR progress
and status. Create and regularly update a tracking system for campus cohorts’ CCMR completion. Coordinate campus
TSIA testing and manage campus budget to purchase and utilize testing units. Act as Campus Coordinator for College
Prep Course(s), maintain campus subscription to College Prep Course(s), and systematically track students’ completion.
Facilitate coordination with campus registrar and district SIS to ensure CCMR accuracy on students’ transcripts. Serve
on the district CCMR Task-Force and provide guidance to the campus direct feeder pattern, including logistics and
administration of TSIA. Ensure campus accuracy when utilizing testing platforms, such as Accuplacer, to coordinate
and upload accurate data into On-Data Suite, or the adopted data dashboard. Coordinator collects and processes DD4
documents regarding military enlistment.


 



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


 


     Communication: 


     


     Individual Planning/Responsive Services/System Support  


1.       Consistently exhibits effective communication skills when working with superiors, peers, parents, and students so that individuals have confidence in the counselor’s knowledge, concern, and competence. 


2.       Interprets and shares information about student achievement and progress with parents, teachers, and other professional personnel.


3.       Promptly responds to parent and/or student inquiries through telephone or personal contact.


     Student Placement: 


 


     Individual Planning/Responsive Services 


1.       Exhibits accurate knowledge of the school program and of ways in which specific student needs can and should be addressed through the program, insuring that the testing scheduling and placement of students is done in the most efficacious and appropriate manner.


2.       Coordinates all preregistration and scheduling activities at the campus level.


3.       Certifies student for honors, awards, and other appropriate recognition.


     Information Services:


     System Support/Guidance Curriculum 


1.       Ongoing data collection about students in efficiently conducted, student records are correct and accurate, dissemination of information is planned and initiated, and requested for information are honored quickly and efficiently.


2.       Track current and future College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) for all junior and senior level students.


3.       Assist administration in tracking cohort data.


4.       Provide career and college entrance information and assistance to students, teachers, parents, and counselors.


5.       Assist with administration of the TSI, SAT School Day, PSAT and ASVAB.


6.       Disseminates materials about scholarships and other special student opportunities; supervises the completion of applications in a timely and accurate manner; writes letters of recommendation as requested and appropriate.


7.       Provides requested information to other educational institutions or business establishments about current and/or former students.


8.       Provides information to the public regarding guidance programs and activities.


9.       Collects and disseminates guidance materials that are relevant to the educational, vocational, and personal needs of students. 


     Dual Credit (Concurrent Enrollment)


     Responsive Services/Individual Planning/System Support 


1.       Promote dual credit (concurrent enrollment) to high school students and parents during advising/scheduling sessions.


2.       Work with Midland College counselors and registrar to maintain good communication.


3.       Advise students regarding dual credit (concurrent enrollment) eligibility and testing status.


4.       Be responsible for providing Midland College Admissions office with student test scores/transcripts.


     Counseling Services:


     Responsive Services/Individual Planning/Guidance Curriculum 


1.       Is available and accessible to students, on a daily basis in such a way that both planned and casual contact with students is achieved.


2.       Provides appropriate career and educational counseling for individuals and student groups.


3.       Conferences with parents and/or students regarding student aptitude, achievement, and ability, with particular emphasis on the counseling of students regarding PSAT/SAT testing. 


4.       Is knowledgeable about community agencies and coordinates the referral of students to those agencies as appropriate.


5.       Ensure all seniors have obtained their FAFSA ID prior to October 1.


6.       Be available to help parents complete FAFSA if needed.


7.       Schedule and plan parent nights to inform parents of expectations for the year and of post-secondary options.


8.       Schedule and plan for college visits, both on and off campus, as well as campus events showcasing military and career opportunities available for our students.


9.       Contact and schedule guest speakers from colleges, local business and the military.


Administrative:


    System Support/Individual Planning 


1.       Administrative duties are executed with initiative, organization, and efficiency and are completed in a timely manner. 


2.       Assists in the planning and development of college nights, career days, or college personnel visitations.


3.       Administers local scholarship and student opportunity programs. 


     Professional Growth:


     System Support 


1.       Seeks methods by which a constant renewal, refinement, and acquisition of skills can be achieved; improvement and growth are a priority. 


2.       Prepares and submits to the building principal an annual performance plan, outlining goals for the year, a timeline of activities, and a method of measurement of outcomes.


3.       Plans for and engages in professional growth through attendance at state, regional, and/or district meetings and conferences.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:


1.       Certified at the level of assignment based on a Bachelor’s degree


2.       Two years of successful classroom teaching experience


3.       Ability to work well with a diverse population
