Job Description

Position Summary

The Billing Analyst 1 will process the cycle and final billing for electric and gas services, which impact customer’s/member’s utility accounts.

 

Primary Position Responsibilities

  • Import/export meter reading files from meter reading system, AMI Command Center or Meter Data Management system.
  • Conduct quality assurance reporting on all Cycle and Final bills.
  • Complete connect, meter change, stuck meter and miscellaneous service orders and adjust account and/or add appropriate fees, if applicable.
  • Calculate and process account adjustments including manual and/or batch files.
  • Process miscellaneous fee adjustments as submitted by departments.
  • Note accounts and complete Customer Care & Billing (CCB) requested tasks.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of charges billed to customers.
  • Update and maintain documented daily checklists and job procedures.
  • Perform NISC CCB Testing, as needed.
  • Understand/explain capital credits, as needed.
  • Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
  • Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.

 

Secondary Position Responsibilities

  • Assists with miscellaneous accounts receivable billing.
  • Attend approved professional training conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Attend advisory committee meetings to assist Billing Analyst Supervisor, as needed.
  • Cross-train on different aspects/duties within the Billing department.
  • Continued knowledge of utilities industry.
  • Attend safety meetings involving safe office procedures
  • Performs other duties and activities as directed.

Education and Certifications Required

 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years utility billing, accounts receivable or equivalent work experience

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to support multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess personal computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Suite office products and CIS software.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Must have typing skills of a minimum of 45 WPM.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
