 REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties/projects may be assigned.

Ensure product quality through the implementation and monitoring of Food Safety Programs for:

  • SOP, SSOP
  • Measuring process control and adherence to specifications
  • Supervise and Assist the Quality Assurance Technicians.
  • Follow up with implemented programs to ensure compliance with GMP’s by all employees and other personnel in the production facility
  • Determine the efficacy of biological and sanitation monitoring programs
  • Maintains a fair and professional work environment that focuses on business objectives
  • Assists in developing and maintaining training and development programs that support key performance goals for the Company
  • Must be familiar with a USDA Meat and Poultry manufacturing facility
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Microbiological Program for Raw and Finished Products
  • Conduct / complete internal facility audits
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prevent food safety and foreign material incidents by working with operations to develop preventative programs
  • Audit operations to verify written programs are being followed
  • Verify finished products meet internal and customer specifications
  • Develop and manage all technical, government, and customer required documentation regarding operations
  • Develop and manage liaison between company and USDA
  • Oversee third party audits and implement procedural changes
  • Provide technical data to internal and external customers as required
  • Oversee daily operations of in-house microbiological and chemistry laboratories
  • Authorize personnel to perform specific laboratory activities, including but not limited to report, review, and authorization of results
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to stand, talk, walk, and hear in a production environment; occasionally required to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust vision focus;
  • Work is performed in a production setting with moderate to intense noise levels;
  • Work is performed in a fluctuating temperature environment (typically 72 degrees to -10 degrees)
