Job Description

Pharmasave #428 is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Melfort, Saskatchewan.

This is a 12-month term position with the potential for an extension.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous Pharmacy Assistant experience in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software, Kroll is an asset.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed 

 

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week (Full-time)
  • The store operates Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Standard shifts are scheduled within these hours.
  • This position requires working at least one weekend shift per month.
