    Job Description: Responsible for scheduling, planning and implementing instruction for students with disabilities in conjunction with the general education classroom teacher.

    Duties and Responsibilities: Monitoring student progress, writing IEPs and scheduling and training of Instructional Assistants.

    Job Qualifications: The appropriate certified candidate must possess Arizona Special Education certification, Cross Categorical or Mild Moderate certificate, or LD teaching certificate. SEI endorsement preferred.

    Licensing/Certification Requirements: Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

    Employment Information: 2026-27 school year; 194 work days (216 day teacher calendar)

    Start Date: July 8, 2026 (New Teachers)

    Future Requirement for K-5:  Literacy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12 or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement)
    Timeline:

    • Teachers who were certified on or before 8/1/2025 have until 8/1/2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
    • Teachers who certify after 8/1/2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
    • Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
