    Job Description: Classroom aide provides support for the full - time teacher, helping them with clerical work and classroom activities. This can involve providing individual attention to students in need of extra assistance or monitoring students in small groups. A classroom aide's job is to assist a teacher and reinforce the instruction taught in the classroom to students. 

    Job Duties: The following are examples of the tasks required for a teacher assistant. 
    • Create a positive rapport with children with mutual respect. 
    • Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
    • Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment and demonstrations
    • Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers. 
    • Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeteria, playground and gymnasium. 
    • Instruct and monitor students in teh use an care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage. 
    • Observe students' performance and record relevant date to assess progress. 
    • Provide extra assistance to students who may need additional support. 
    • Reinforce school and classroom rules.

    Education Requirements: Minimum GED or a high school diploma and some one the job training. 
    Preferred an associate's degree or higher education.

    Terms of Employment: 9 months working 4 - 5 days for a total of 25 - 29 hours a week
