Our Midland, MI site has an exciting job opportunity for a site Refrigeration/HVAC Technician responsible for the reliable operation of various heating and cooling systems- both comfort and process dependent equipment.

Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Work on critical industrial process refrigeration skids using ammonia, R-507, propylene, etc. refrigerants
  • Maintain twin screw, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors
  • Maintain all HVAC systems on site while completing all maintenance tasks in a safe and effective manner
  • Work to improve HVAC systems to better than found condition, striving to identify root cause issues
  • Troubleshoot steam/hot water heat systems, mechanical cooling, chilled water, mini splits, and building control systems
  • Adjust building control systems using a connected laptop
  • Correspond with and work alongside OEM technicians for complex repairs
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors
  • Maintain maintenance records, modify PMs as needed, and manage environmental compliance reporting
  • Develop maintenance procedures and strategies for HVAC systems
  • Assist other maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues
  • Determine the necessary spare parts to meet plant reliability needs
  • Make recommendations for equipment and process improvements
  • Comply with all industry standards and company specific safety regulations as well as compliance with all regulatory requirements (i.e., GMP, OSHA, EPA)
  • Responsible for installation and start-up of new equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements – Who You Are:

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • You have 2 years of experience with commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems.
  • You have HVAC Certification/Licensure/ EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, including good written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are experienced in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and make quality repairs.
  • You have a proven record of good EH&S performance.
  • You are experienced in safely operating fork trucks and aerial lifts.
  • You have a High School Diploma/GED.
  • You understand that we are here to serve our customers and doing so well is critical to our site viability! Due to this, you are willing and able to work a day shift schedule with overtime as well as an on-call rotation schedule. This includes being willing and able to take calls during the week and on some weekends as needed to support operations.
  • You always are willing to help out and physical work isn’t a problem for you…Passing by a team member struggling to lift something? Safety is your top priority, and you are willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations to help your colleague and/or perform necessary job tasks!
  • You are willing and able to occasionally travel to our Harbor Beach site and vendor shops as needed.

Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:

  • Industrial chiller knowledge.
  • Steam and condensate experience.
  • Electrical experience.
  • Pneumatic controls experience.
