Position Summary




The Lead is responsible for oversight of all mail room and courier activity and transactions, including staff scheduling and coverage.  This position is accountable for fleet registration management for the entirety of HHS vehicles, and vehicle maintenance scheduling execution for all Supply Chain courier vehicles.                                        










Primary Position Responsibilities







    1. Demonstrates ability to deliver/process incoming/outgoing mail on a timely basis in accordance with approved policies and procedures and the most current USPS regulations, including recording priority shipments and certified mail, adhering to department specific delivery requirements.                                

    2. Manages stock of mailroom supplies, and ensures there are adequate postage funds available in the postage meter.  Reviews activity of the BRM account to ensure adequate funding is available and initiates replenishment procedures on a timely basis.       

    3. Ensures all mail room equipment is maintained and functioning properly and acts as the liaison with equipment service providers when necessary.                                

    4. Processes and distributes postage meter reports for billing purposes as necessary.  Manages and trains users on XPS Priority Mail System.                                

    5. Has reporting responsibility for couriers, including reviews.  Oversees courier activity and manages schedules according to available staffing.  Works with lab and offsite locations to notify of any changes to routes or pickup times.                                 

    6. Ensures all courier runs are completed or managed, and helps cover when staffing requires it.                                

    7. Manages vehicle registrations for entire HHS fleet of vehicles, ensures timely maintenance on all courier vehicles and necessary contents, and manages log sheets, and run sheets (making run changes as offsite locations open, close, change).
