Job Description

✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth!  Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Youth Support Worker at Pivot Point Youth Center in Las Vegas, Nevada 

Pivot Point Center for Youth (PPCY) provides short-term residential treatment to girls between the ages of 12 to 18 who exhibit maladaptive patterns of behavior, special needs, moderate mental health disorders, and emotional and behavioral disturbances. Youth may have a history of trauma, substance use disorders, and long-term involvement within the Department of Juvenile Justice Services. We expect youth to have presenting behaviors and impairments that affect their ability to be safe in a home-like setting. ROP will provide quality treatment, education, 24-hour supervision, cognitive, behavioral, social, vocation and other skills and services for youth who are completing placement or for those awaiting adjudication by the Court. 

Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour.

What you will do: As a Youth Support Workers you will provide safety, around-the-clock supervision, mediation, crisis management and social, educational, and recreational support following the daily schedule. You will Conduct a physical count of students within the living area and update the check sheet as required by site operations. Monitor and document client behaviors and activities—transport youth in company vehicles. Communicate any youth-related concerns, behavior changes, emotions, academic progress, and their overall disposition to ensure the treatment plan is adjusted to meet the youth's success.

To be considered you should: Be empathetic, patient, consistent, compassionate, an honest work ethic, and treat others with respect ~ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~ Experience or familiarity with youth who have a history of interpersonal violence and/or sexual trauma, or various forms of other traumas or teens having been in/on probation ~ Involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice and/or the Department of Family Services is preferable ~  Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry. 

Schedule:  

B-Shift 

Day schedule: Thursday/Friday/Saturday 8am – 9pm and Wednesday 2pm – 9pm * 1-hour break 

Overnight Schedule: Thursday/Friday/Saturday ~ 8pm – 9am and Wednesday 2am – 9am, *1-hour break each day. 

Shift A  

Day schedule: Sunday/Monday/Tuesday 8am – 9pm and Wednesday 8am - 2:00pm * 1-hour break  

Overnight Schedule: Sunday/Monday/Tuesday 8pm – 9am and Wednesday ~ 8pm – 3am. *1-hour break each day.
