Position Summary: The Commercial Roofing Technician - Low Slope is to provide a service to install, maintain and repair the roofs in a safe and high performing manner.
The Blueprint for Success - Key Responsibilities:
Set up ladders and safety equipment in strict accordance with OSHA guidelines.
Inspect roof surfaces for existing damage and potential safety hazards prior to starting work.
Load roofing materials and equipment using cranes, forklifts, and A-frame hand hoists.
Ensure all materials and equipment are safely stored and secured on-site.
Remove existing roofing systems using power cutters, tear-off machines, and hand tools.
Transport tear-off debris via wheelbarrows and material carts to trash chutes for disposal.
Sweep and inspect the roof deck for damaged decking, insulation, or underlayment.
Repair or replace damaged roof decks to ensure a sound structural foundation.
Install insulation boards using adhesives, hot asphalt, or screws and plates.
Apply membrane or roll goods over insulation using adhesive, hot asphalt, or mechanical fasteners.
Transport and distribute rock or gravel ballast using conveyors, cranes, wheelbarrows, or gravel carts.
Apply protective roof coatings using hand rollers, squeegees, or power sprayers.

Required:
Safely climb ladders and scaffolding using hands, arms, legs, and feet.
Lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently.
Shovel rock, dirt, or debris for periods of up to six hours or more per day.
Maintain the visual acuity required to operate power tools and machinery, such as roof saws, asphalt kettles, handheld power tools, and hot air welding equipment.
Maintain adequate auditory function to hear instructions and verbal safety signals.
