Production Equipment Maintenance Technician
The Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by maintaining and repairing production equipment and machinery. This position is essential for minimizing downtime, increasing productivity, and ensuring the safety of employees in a manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with production teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix equipment issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Inspection and Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections of production equipment to identify wear and tear, damage, or potential issues.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose equipment malfunctions, analyze root causes, and determine the best course of action for repairs.
Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs on production machinery.
Replace defective parts and components as necessary and ensure proper calibration.
Emergency Repairs:
Respond quickly to unexpected equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Collaborate with production teams to prioritize and address critical repairs.
Coordinate with external vendors or specialists when necessary.
Safety Compliance:
Strict adherence to all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies is required.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs in CMMS system.
Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement upgrades and modifications.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in production equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and industrial control systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to respond to emergencies.
