Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Camp Director, the Camp Nurse oversees the health and health forms for seasonal campers.

Essential Functions:
Appropriately treat injuries and illnesses as appropriately to staff and campers. Administer medication as necessary.
Reviews and maintains all medical records for campers.
Notifies the Camp Director in writing of any special circumstances or conditions of campers.
Leads or assists in any training that may be pertinent to a child’s special medical condition.
Maintains a clean and safe environment, ensuring area is free of clutter, debris and hazardous conditions.
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes reports as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
LPN/RN preferred
Minimum age of 21 and (1) Have successfully completed a course in camping administration such as those offered by national professional camping associations, national agencies or their equivalent, or (2) Have a least two seasons previous experience as part of the administrative staff of a recreational camp for children.
Certifications: CPR, Basic First Aid & AED.
Previous supervisory experience, including staff scheduling and training preferred.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills.
